Aara Krumpe- Treasurer
Aara Krumpe is from Corpus Christi, Texas where she received her early training from Nancy Sulik. At age 15, she moved to Pittsburgh to study for three years at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School under David Holladay. Aara arrived at Ballet Austin as an Apprentice in 1999 and joined the Company in 2001. Since then, she has performed many principal roles in classical, contemporary, and modern works. In May 2019, Aara retired from the stage reprising one of her favorite roles, Giselle.
Aara has an extensive repertoire of Stephen Mills ballets: the title roles in BELLE REDUX/A Tale of Beauty & The Beast, Romeo & Juliet, The Firebird, and The Taming of the Shrew, as well as the Queen in Grimm Tales' Snow White, Desire Pas de Deux, Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, Gertrude in Hamlet, Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, and her most performed role of The Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker. She has also danced the principal roles in the classics Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Bournonville's La Sylphide and Balanchine's Serenade and Agon. Aara is most thankful for the opportunity to have performed the role of the Survivor in Mills' Light/The Holocaust & Humanity Project in Austin, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, as well as a three city tour in Israel.
Throughout her performing career, Aara has helped stage ballets and run rehearsals for Ballet Austin, BAII, and the Butler Fellows. Now that she is no longer performing, she enjoys teaching at Ballet Austin and serving on the Board of Dancing Into Science. Aara and her husband, Ambrose, love calling Austin their home and are the proud parents of two wonderful boys, Leo and Lucas.
Corinne O'Brien- Secretary
Corinne is a corporate executive that helps organizations realize their potential in an increasingly complex and dynamic environment. Her focus is on translating bold vision into actionable plans, mobilizing resources and optimizing enterprise decision-making. She is passionate about developing novel business models and partnerships that will foster cross-discipline collaboration and enable the type of solutions needed in our increasingly connected global world.
For the past 15 years she led strategy, finance and business development teams at Pfizer Inc., a leading multinational biopharmaceutical company headquartered in New York. She led a broad range of initiatives across business segment and geographic region – all addressing some aspect of shaping the business to more effectively bring scientific and technological innovation to fruition and drive meaningful change in the healthcare ecosystem.
Corinne began her career with EY in New York in an advisory role (audit and restructuring advisory services). She holds a BS in Accounting from Lehigh University and an MBA in Finance from Stern School of Business – New York University. She lives in Larchmont, New York with her husband and three children.
Christian Vincent
Christian Vincent is a man of many talents that is a success in many areas of the entertainment industry. He holds a B.F.A from Butler University where he graduated with highest honors, cum laude, an MFA in dance from the University of California, Irvine and is currently on faculty at The Glorya Kaufman School of Dance at USC.
Christian has worked with such artists as Shakira, Ricky Martin, Chayanne, Mandy Moore, Geri Halliwell, Macy Gray, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Ashanti, Prince, Gloria Estefan, Britney Spears, Stevie Wonder and Madonna (where he was dance captain for her Drowned World Tour).
Christian has also danced in various films including She’s All That, Starsky and Hutch, Rent, The Wedding Planner, Walk Hard “The Dewey Cox Story,” Flintstones “Viva Rock Vegas,” Ms. Congeniality 2 and GI Joe 2 Retaliation. Even more extensive are his television appearances on Buffy, Disney’s Annie, Arrested Development, Baywatch, Mad TV, The George Lopez show, Cold Case and Dancing with The Stars. Additionally, he has appeared in multiple commercials and print ads for Chevrolet, Muscle and Fitness “Hers” and Verizon.
Christian’s talents as a choreographer, dance coach and artistic director have been utilized in various projects. He has worked with directors David Fincher and Marc Webb and coached actors like Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer). Christian recently finished coaching Golden Globe winning actress Sally Hawkins for Guillermo del Torro’s new film The Shape of Water.
Christian’s commercial credits include Target, AT&T, Nationwide Insurance, WalMart, Nestle Skinny Cow, CoverGirl with Queen Latifah, Adidas and Subway. His television and film work can be seen in Noah’s Arc “Jumping The Broom”, and the Global television series Canada Sings.
Christian is also an actor and has appeared off Broadway in Radiant Baby, directed by George C. Wolf. He has made appearances in Smallville, Noah’s Arc, Center Stage 2, Fringe, Fallen, Sins of the Mother, Continuum and most recently Hidden America with Jonah Ray.
Michael Trusnovec
Michael Trusnovec grew up dancing on Long Island, graduated from the Long Island High School for the Performing Arts, and earned a BFA in Dance Performance from Southern Methodist University. For over two decades, Michael was a principal dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, creating over 25 roles with, and appearing in more than 70 dances by Mr. Taylor. He also premiered new works by Larry Keigwin, Doug Elkins, Doug Varone, Lila York, Margie Gillis and Pam Tanowitz. In addition, Michael was Associate Rehearsal Director, was featured in the 2004 PBS Great Performances: Acts of Ardor and the 2013 Paul Taylor in Paris, and continues to serve as the Director of Worldwide Licensing, and as a repetiteur of Mr. Taylor’s dances. Among his honors are the 2018 Dance Magazine Award, the “Positano Premia La Danza” Dancer of the Year 2016, a 2006 Bessie Award, and he was named a 1992 YoungArts awardee and Presidential Scholar in the Arts. He is a co-founder of the Asbury Park Dance Festival, serves on the Board of Directors for Dance Films Association, was a 2019 Dance Panelist for the New York State Council on the Arts, and is a national reviewer, and Alumni Advisory Council member for YoungArts. Mr. Trusnovec will be a guest artist with New York City Ballet during their Winter 2020 Season.
